In Production: THE SONG OF SONGS
‘How can you make a film on a story that has no beginning, middle, or end.’

At the end of his life, a man reflects on the last film he wanted to make about the seemingly most beautiful and darkest thing he knew: love. But the notions of desire and beauty in the enigmatic Song of Songs also cause him to become entangled in the unliveable contradictions that characterise love: unanswered desire, violence, power; all united in the magnificent illusion called love. He left the project unfinished. A younger filmmaker has picked up where the man left off.
With his former assistant director, he travels to visit a dying friend with whom he worked on the film. Along the way, the man and the younger woman have conversations and pass by the places where he filmed scenes from the work he never finished.
